Today, Mattel has announced that it plans to make it’s Matchbox line of vehicles from 100% recycled materials by the year 2030. In an effort to demonstrate, they have launched the Matchbox Tesla Roadster which is made from 99% recycled materials which will be available starting in 2022.
To support the initiative Matchbox Power Grabs are now available with zero-plastic packaging, as well as a five-pack of EV themed Matchbox cars with a paper foam inner tray (instead of the usual plastic).
Matchbox is also redesigning their packaging to be more recycle friendly and will be including How2Recycle recycling information printed on them.
